The IMPROVE project is a collaboration between Rob Giel Research center (consisting of six large mental health care organizations), UMCG Psychiatry department, HTA-unit of the UMCG, Netherlands Institute of Mental Health and Addiction (Trimbos-institute), MIND Landelijk platform Psychische Gezondheid (MIND), an umbrella organization in mental health and “De Friesland Zorgverzekeraar”, a large regional health insurer.
The project involves combining data from several sources to support optimal treatment choice. Administrative data regarding treatment outcomes and health care use have been systematically gathered and stored in databases.The initiative has been taken to use the available data, enrich them with new data sources and analyze the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of mental health care in these regions with the initial focus on the province of Friesland, under the name of IMPROVE.
